On August 22, Edison Jr. High School held a Family/Community Engagement event at the school.
Parents had the opportunity to stop by and learn about the new Amplify Science curriculum. The curriculum is very hands-on, engaging, and infuses real-life science scenarios.
They also got to take part in science experiments from Professors at the University of Iowa. The university offers an outreach program for free called Hawk-Eyes on Science.
The professors share demonstrations and labs that they do in actual classes at the university. They showed the students and parents lasers, high powered magnets, air pressure demos, and much more! The students also got to take home a free pair of prism glasses.
