On November 6th, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos made a visit to Horace Mann Early Learning center.
She got a tour of the building as well as got to see inside some of the Head Start classrooms.
Just this past summer, Congresswoman Bustos announced a $2,524,007 federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services for Rock Island-Milan School District's Head Start programs.
“Head Start is a tremendous program that provides our children with the tools they need to succeed, and I’ll continue to fight for programs like this that set young students up for a bright future," said Congresswoman Bustos.
Head Start promotes school readiness of preschool children from low-income families by supporting development through comprehensive services.
Superintendent Dr. Lawrence and Head Start Director, Nicole Berry had a great conversation with Congresswoman Bustos! Thank you for your visit!
