2019 Student Hunger Drive is a Success

On Nov. 14 Rock Island High School Student Council loaded up all their boxes of donations and took them to the River Bend Foodbank to be weighed.

The school collected more than 14,000 pounds of food! That will provide 15,668 meals for families in need. RIHS was also recieved the Most Improved Award for Division A for a second year in a row!

For the last six weeks, students and staff in the RIMSD#41 have worked hard hosting events and collecting donations for the student hunger drive.

"We did a great job this year, increasing from our previous total. We were just under 15k lbs of food! This was a district-wide effort and we look forward to continuing this amazing community lifting project," said RIHSTeacher and Student Council Advisory, Kelly Young.

Congratulations on all of your hard work!
