RIMSD#41 Celebrates Renovation Projects at Earl Hanson

RIMSD#41 celebrated the completion of the renovation projects that includes a new secure entryway and renovations to the Library and Media center at Earl Hanson Elementary School.

Sixth-grade students in Earl Hanson’s Inspire Choir lead the celebration off with a song and after the ribbon cutting the 6th-grade band greeting guests inside with a performance.

The passing of the Rock Island County 1% Sales Tax measure in November 2016 has given the Rock Island-Milan School District much need revenue to complete construction projects and room to plan for building upgrades in the future.

"We're making school safe for students and families. And also improving our environment so that our children can learn and have the best of everything there is to offer," said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Lawrence.

This summer, there were more than $1,000,000 worth of construction projects being worked on. Some of those projects include secure entryways at Edison Junior High, Earl Hanson Elementary, and Horace Mann Early Learning Center. Each building has been reconfigured to include a secure front entrance in which visitors have to go to the main office first before gaining access to the school building.
