A Message for Families

October 1, 2020

Dear RIMSD #41 Families,

We have made it through the First Quarter of the School Year and have reached the Fall Intersession Break! On Oct. 19 we are looking forward to transitioning into school buildings with
those who opted for the Blended Learning Plan in the Second Quarter. Please take the time over break to visit our website www.rimsd41.org to review the expectations for Remote and Blended Learning. Whatever plan you have chosen, we want to make sure that it is the best learning experience possible for your child.

Over the course of the next few weeks leading up to the start of the Second Quarter, each school principal will be contacting you (via Remind, robocall, or postcards) and sharing a variety of school updates for you and your children specific to their individual building. Many of the schedules, guidelines, and expectations that are similar for all schools can be found on our district website, www.rimsd41.org, under the e-learning tab.

The school district will continue to distribute meal kits over Fall Intersession Break on Mondays and Thursdays. The exception is on Monday, Oct. 12 when Columbus Day is observed; those meals will be available on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

As we approach the end of the Second Quarter, we will be sending around another Commitment Form to families for the Third Quarter. We will be asking the same question that we did with the last Commitment Form - that you choose to either send your child for Blended Learning (a combination of remote and in-person) or whether you want to continue with Full Remote Learning. We will go through the same process for the Fourth Quarter as well.

Again, we thank you for your continued support and consideration during this challenging time.

Please know that the safety of your children will always be our top priority.

Sincerely,

Dr. Reginald L. Lawrence II,

Superintendent
