Construction Progressing at Washington Jr. High School

There's a lot of work going on outside and inside of Washington Jr. High School!

The revenue from the Rock Island County 1% Sales Tax is giving the Rock Island-Milan School District much-needed funds to complete construction projects and plan building upgrades for the future! This includes a $2.1 million renovation and expansion project at WJHS.

Right now there is a lot of demolition going on. The old main office and the caferia have been completely gutted. Workers have also started on a section of the roof replacement.

The project will feature a secure entryway and cafeteria renovation and expansion. Plans also include administrative offices, two flexible spaces for specialists that serve students, and a space for the school nurse that includes a separate bathroom and shower. Go to Capital Projects >>
