In-Person Learning at School Canceled for Jan. 26

Due to the extreme weather conditions, the decision has been made to cancel in-person learning at school for Tuesday, January 26, and conduct an Elearning or Full Remote Learning day.

Elearning Days are the same as Full Remote Learning structure used throughout the 2020-2021 school year. Students are to log onto Google Classroom at the beginning of the school day:

  • PreK-grade 6 - 8:30 a.m.
  • Jr. High - 8:15 a.m.
  • Thurgood Marshall Learning Center - 8:00 a.m.
  • High School - 8:30 a.m.

Students will be expected to answer the attendance question. If home Internet usage for a student goes down, students or parents need to contact the building principal so student attendance is not affected.

There will still be meal distributions from 10:30 am -11:30 am at Edison and Washington Jr. High and Rock Island High School only for students and their families.

The Rock Island-Milan Board of Education approved the use of Elearning/Full Remote Learning for Emergency Days at the November 20, 2020 meeting.
