Earl Hanson Elementary School Turns 50

It was a party at Earl Hanson on Thursday, April 22, 2021. The staff held a walk/drive-through birthday bash for its families to celebrate the school turning 50 years old!

Earl Hanson opened its doors back in 1971 and was named after Mr. Earl Hanson who was a Rock Island High School history teacher, RIHS principal, and superintendent of schools.

During the celebration, families stopped by various stations along Earl Hanson's circle drive. Different stations included John Deere, Rock Island Public Library, Spring Forward, and more!

Students received a take-and-bake cake, books, and a plant to grow at home!
