A message from Superintendent Dr. Lawrence

September 16, 2021

Dear Rock Island High School Families,

This letter is to inform you that there was an individual at Rocky who tested positive for COVID-19.

Any individuals who were identified as having close contact (in the last 24 hours, within 3 feet for 15 min. total within a 24 hour period) to the COVID-19 case are being placed in quarantine for 14 days. If your child was in close contact with any of these individuals, you would have received a phone call from the school.

The school district will continue to coordinate with the Rock Island County Health Department to promptly identify and monitor individuals who have had recent contact with the COVID-19 positive individual to prevent further spread within our school and community. If a Contact Tracer from the Rock Island County Health Department reaches out to you via phone call, please cooperate as it is an important step to controlling COVID-19 infection rates.

Thank you for your understanding and ongoing cooperation with our COVID policies and procedures as we work to help protect your children, your families, and our staff and their families from the COVID-19 virus. If there are any further updates, RIMSD #41 will post a notice on the website www.rimsd41.org and communicate immediately via Remind.

Sincerely,

Dr. Reginald Lawrence
