RIMSD Equity Statement Feedback

The Rock Island-Milan School District is committed to working proactively to address racial and cultural biases while actively eliminating institutional structures that lead to a lack of access, opportunity and equity for all.

The district began work in cultural competence and inclusion in 2016 during the Strategic Planning Process, which led to the creation of a district-wide CQ Team. In recent months, RIMSD #41 has seen the importance of working together to embrace the diversity within the district and the need to develop an Equity Statement that is in alignment with our RIM2025 Strategic Plan Core Values.

An initial draft of the Equity Statement was developed, and now the school district is looking to gather feedback and input. Throughout October and November, Superintendent Dr. Reginald Lawrence will be meeting with established focus groups (staff, parents and students) and has set up a Virtual Forum on Thursday, Oct. 21 to gather feedback from the community.
