RIMSD #41 Staff Receive Excellence in Education Awards

Five staff members in the Rock Island-Milan School District were recognized by the Regional Office of Education with the 2022 Excellence in Education Award.

The award is sponsored by the Rock Island County Regional Office of Education to honor teachers, school support personnel, substitute teachers, volunteers, and friends of education throughout the Rock Island County region. A banquet was planned to recognize the award winners, however the event was canceled in the spring due to COVID concerns.

In lieu of a gathering, the individuals were honored through a two-page advertisement in The Dispatch/Argus and an electronic billboard on John Deere Road that highlighted the recipients. Awards were delivered to the individual school districts so the superintendent could personally congratulate each winner.

"We are extremely proud that we have wonderful individuals to recognize for all of the work and dedication to our students and their families," said Superintendent Dr. Reginald Lawrence II.
