Class of 2022 Graduation June 4, 2022

The Class of 2022 is a strong, diverse, high achieving group of 420 young men and women who crossed the bridge from student to graduate on June 4, 2022 at the TaxSlayer Center during he Rock Island High School 149th Annual Commencement.

Those 420 individuals earned $3.4 million in college scholarships and funding, devoted 1,750 volunteer hours in the community, led sports teams to victory and/or found their calling with a career in a trade. Some became entrepreneurs and launched their own business. Some overcame unspeakable difficulties through COVID.

"Being a student at Rock Island High School has taught us quite a bit, not just math, science, English or history," said Top Ten Senior Ian Empen. "Being a Rock has taught us how to be resilient; to be unwavering in the face of difficult circumstances...I am grateful for the lessons I’ve learned as a Rock, and I am confident that our class of 2022 will continue to use these lessons as foundations to live a successful and fulfilling life."

Top Ten Senior Alaina Mueller encouraged everyone to "to take what you have learned, and use it to build a pathway that fulfills your dreams and strengthens your community. Our high school years were a roller coaster, but it sure was a fun ride. We may all be parting ways and living out our own dreams, but we will always have something that ties us together; we are the Class of 2022, and we finally made it."
