Rocky Apprenticeship Programs Offer Students a Path to a Career

It's National Apprenticeship Week (Nov. 14 - Nov. 20) and to celebrate we're highlighting the apprenticeship programs Rock Island High School offers.

Rocky's Welding program offers apprenticeships to its students. Welding students take classes in the morning and then work in the afternoon at their apprenticeships. Rock Island High School partners with John Deere, Crawford Company, and McLaughlin.

The CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) program started its apprenticeship program this past summer (2022). Right now the school partners with UnityPoint Health. This gives students even more experience outside the classroom by giving them valuable hands-on experience.

These programs are a growing example of how RIMSD is preparing students for life after they graduate, whether that's college or a career.
