Rocky Seniors Go Back to the Beginning

A group of Rocky seniors got to go back to where it all began, their elementary alma mater.

On May 19, they got to walk the halls of Ridgewood Elementary School one last time before they graduate.

As they walked the hall, Pomp and Circumstance music played and students and former teachers cheered them on. It brought tears to some of the senior's eyes, staff members too.

"These are our babies. Now they are all grown up," said Rosaland Lee, Building Supervisor at Ridgewood.

While it's a great experience to give the current Ridgewood Elementary students a glimpse of where they'll be in a few years, Principal Dilulio says it's a good reminder to teachers as well.

"Days like this is a testament that the work we are doing makes a difference. While we have tough and stressful days, remember you all are the reason these young adults are succeeding and come back to show you what they have accomplished."

Rock Island High School Seniors will walk across the stage to get their diploma on June 3.
