RIMSD Staff Member Recognized by NAACP

Dr. Williams is the EL/Bilingual Coordinator for the district. She is vital in supporting the district’s mission of assuring EL (English Learners) students are educated to reach their highest potential. Dr. Williams also leads the Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee which ensures EL parents have a voice in their child's education and are able to give input. One of her top priorities is ensuring all EL students take part in the annual WIDA ACCESS English Language proficiency test that measures students' academic English language skills. Dr. Williams organizes the EL curriculum for Spring Forward's summer camp and sits on the Board of Directors for the Rock Island-Milan Education Foundation. She's also a club advisor for the African American Heritage Club at Rock Island High School.

"This is a really big deal. Congratulations to her. We are very proud of her to be associated with her and her fine work," said Interim Superintendent Alan Boucher.
