RIMSD#41 School of the Month Winner for August

Congratulations to Edison Jr. High School for being selected as the School of the Month winner for the month of August!

The District F.A.C.E team selects the school of the month based on the work of the building F.A.C.E team as a collaborative unit, building leader support to the overall building F.A.C.E goals, the intentionality of implementing events that include a variety of different process conditions, and the consistency of F.A.C.E events and operations at each site.

The winning school receives a treat and flags to display outside their school building.

Here's what their nomination stated," It is with great pleasure that I announce Edison Jr. High as the Rock Island Milan School District Family & Community Engagement (FACE) School of the Month! The school has a strong FACE team outfitted with people who are dedicated not only to the work but to the students and families that belong to Edison.

Edison has logged two events in the FACE Tracker already, but there are at least two more events they could account for. Clearly, it's quality over quantity!

Bottomline, the Edison team is collaborative and thrives on the support of their leadership team. The FACE team intentionally plans and carries out events that are engaging! The growth around the consistency of leveraging every opportunity to teach parents skills that will help them help their children is key!!! Edison, keep doing what you are doing!  We see you! "
