Congratulations to Eugene Field Elementary School for being selected as the School of the Month winner for the month of August!
The District F.A.C.E team selects the school of the month based on the work of the building F.A.C.E team as a collaborative unit, building leader support to the overall building F.A.C.E goals, the intentionality of implementing events that include a variety of different process conditions, and the consistency of F.A.C.E events and operations at each site.
The winning school receives a treat and flags to display outside their school building.
Here's what their nomination stated, "It is with great pleasure that I announce Eugene Field as the Rock Island Milan School District Family & Community Engagement (FACE) School of the Month! You all started the year out strong with your "Red Carpet" event. Although this event was more student-centered, it demonstrated to the parents the fact the culture of the building matters. In addition, you were able to recruit a few very active families to serve on our district Partners In Education (PIE) Team. Having Eugene Field represented on this team gives voice for not just those families for many other parents in the Eugene Field boundaries. Finally, Eugene Field has logged 12 events in the FACE Tracker already this year, and 7 out of those 12 were for the month of September! Those Leader in Me celebrations, Grandfriends Day, and Parent Teacher Conferences all helped bring families into your building this month! Keep up the great work!
