Students were selected through individual statewide auditions held in October. Out of the 10,000 auditions that were held statewide, 7,000 students from elementary to high school were selected.
The students will get to perform in Peoria, January 24-27, with other top student musicians in Illinois at the IMEA All-State Music Festival.
Each of these ensembles will be led by distinguished conductors and educators from across the country.
The Rock Island High School band program is directed by Pete Carlin; the choral program is directed by Scott Voigt.
