Congratulations to Horace Mann Early Learning Center for being selected as the School of the Month winner for November.
The District F.A.C.E team selects the school of the month based on the work of the building F.A.C.E team as a collaborative unit, building leader support to the overall building F.A.C.E goals, the intentionality of implementing events that include a variety of different process conditions, and the consistency of F.A.C.E events and operations at each site.
The winning school receives a treat and flags to display outside their school building.
Here's what their nomination stated, "We are excited to announce that Horace Mann is the Rock Island Milan School District Family & Community Engagement (FACE) School of the Month for November.
Horace Mann spent the month of November engaging and empowering families. Through a series of workshops, they provided invaluable resources and taught families skills and strategies that will help them create learning-centered home environments. Families were equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to ensure kiddos were kindergarten-ready. They also emphasized the importance of mental health and connected families with local resources.
