In action items, the Board approved:
  • A software license renewal agreement with Edmentum to provide online course software for credit recovery at Rock Island High School and Thurgood Marshall Learning Center for the 2024-2025 school year at a cost of $30,000. District Software Funds will be utilized for this purchase.
  • A 4-year lease agreement from Dell Computer Corporation, 1 Dell Way-RR8, in the full amount of $206,738.40 ($51,684.60 per year). Tax levy funds will be utilized for the funding of this lease agreement over the 4-year duration.
  • A contract for service of an Algo paging intercom system to be installed by Hughes Telephone, Inc., in the amount of $59,184.40. Tort funds will be used to fund the contract.
  •  Award the contract for the Rock Island High School stadium repairs, to TNT Tuckpointing & Building Restoration, LLC, in an amount not to exceed $898,224.00. 1% sales tax funds will be utilized for this purchase.
  • Authorize Bills for Payment dated March 28th in the amount of $4,181,980.20.
  • April donations.
  • The amended quarterly report for December 31, 2023.
  • The purchase of up to 29 Active Panels at $4,204 each from CDW-G, at a cost not to exceed $121,916.Title Funds will be utilized for this purchase.
  • The recommendation that the Rock Island - Milan School Board approve the purchase of 1500 Lenovo Chromebooks, 1500 Chrome OS Management console licenses, 1500 Case Logic carrying cases, and 750 Chromebook chargers, for a combined total not to exceed $402,000.00 from SHI. Title funds will be utilized for the purchase of these items.
  • The purchase of football helmets from Riddell All American Sports, in the amount of $15,045.95. District Athletic funds will be used for this purchase.
  • The purchase of a 2022 E350 cutaway box truck from J.H. Barkau & Sons Automobiles, in an amount not to exceed $46,426.99. This purchase will be
    paid from Operations & Maintenance and Nutrition Services funds.
  • The following appointments for the 2024-25 school year of Brandy Lawrence.
  •  The following certified resignation upon the completion of the 2023-24 school year of Jennifer Alongi-Principal at Eugene Field with two years of service.
  •  The following Non-Certified appointments for the 2023-24 school year of Kae Moo, Jessie Hamilton, Jason Mueck, Danielle McPherson, Aaron Shannon, Jennifer Andrus.
  • The following non-certified resignation of Johnny King, Head 8th grade football coach/ WJHS with one year of service.
  • The following non-certified resignation upon completion of the 2023-24 school year of Abigail Thomson-SpED Paraprofessional /Longfellow with less than one year of service.
In personnel, the Board approved:
  • Certified coach Maggi Voss for the 2024-25 school year as Head Girls Tennis Coach / RIHS-Salary - $8,700.00/season.
  • The following second-year probationary administrator shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year, therefore, their employment will terminate at the end of the 2023-24 school year of Megan Smith-EJHS.
  • The following list of first-year probationary teachers that shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year because they were hired after the first day of school. Therefore, their employment will terminate at the end of the 2023-24 school year of Lily Tewksbury- PPS, Josephine Johnson- WJHS, Ariel Bainter- Frances Willard, Tricia Day- Ridgewood, Amber Mattly- RICMS
  • The following list of one teacher who shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year because they were part-time. Therefore, their employment will terminate at the end of the 2023-24 school year of Amy Mosley- Jordan.
  • The following second-year probationary teachers shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year. Therefore, their employment will terminate at the end of the 2023-24 school year of Tyanda Colvin-EJHS and Lauren Hall- EJHS
  • The following list of third year probationary teachers shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year. Therefore, their employment will terminate at the end of the 2023-24 school year of: Gabrielle Pepping- Frances Willard and Becky Lapp- RI Academy
  • The following list of 29 non-certified employees shall not be re-employed for the 2024-25 school year.
