In an effort to continuously improve the safety for all students, teachers and staff in our district buildings, Rock Island-Milan School District #41 is introducing our new Visitor Management System that will officially roll out on November 4, 2024.
How does it work?
All visitors to district buildings must present a state ID or other legal identification that includes:
- Full Name
- Photo
- Date of Birth
Without proper identification, visitors' access will be restricted inside the building. This procedure is part of our safety measures to limit risks by addressing potential risk factors.
Visitors who are interacting within our school buildings for an extended period of time must go through the visitor management system protocol. This will include but not limited to:
- Classroom volunteers
- School visitors for the day
- Conducting a meeting with school personnel
- Vendors conducting business
- Non-district service providers
Visitors who are not subject to the visitor management system protocol include but are not limited to
- In and out visits, drop offs, pick ups
- District personnel with identification (i.e. badge)
- Conducting a meeting with school personnel on non-attendance days
- Extracurricular activities
These new policies and procedures are meant to keep each of our district stakeholders safe anywhere they may be within RIMSD.
