Mr. Jeffrey Whitaker, Principal at Rock Island High School (RIHS), is resigning his position as of June 30, 2025. Mr. Whitaker has been the proud principal of RIHS for the past seven years.
In his letter to the Board of Education and District Leadership Team, Mr. Whitaker described his time with Rocky as extremely rewarding and prideful.
"It is time for a new challenge and a new chapter in my life," Whitaker said. "I would like to formally thank Egan Colbrese and Mike Oberhaus for hiring me and giving me the opportunity to serve the Rock Island-Milan community. I will miss the staff, community and most importantly the students."
A nationwide search for the next RIHS principal will begin immediately.
