There is a water main break on 25th Avenue near Rock Island High School.
If parents are driving their student to the high school, they are asked to use 23rd Avenue to drop off students. Students must still enter through the Circle Drive entrance off of 25th Avenue.
The parking lot across from Circle Drive on 25th Avenue is accessible and students and staff can park their vehicles there today.
UPDATE 9:45 a.m.
The City of Rock Island is working on the repair and has been in communication with the high school. There is water available in the main section of the building and restrooms are functional. The Nutrition Services (food) department will have lunch today as planned.
UPDATE 2:55 p.m.
The City of Rock Island has the issue resolved and 25th Avenue is open and ready for Rock Island High School end of day traffic.
