Superintendent
Dr. Williams is an experienced educator with 24 + years of experience as a teacher, principal, executive director, project director, executive coach, chief academic officer, chief of schools and deputy superintendent. She has served school districts in urban, rural and suburban areas and has worked in the non-profit sector.
Dr. Williams hails from Nashville, TN and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis. She began her public service as a social worker serving children and families in the foster care system. She received her Education Specialist and Doctorate Degrees in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee
State University.
Dr. Williams shared her expertise in school improvement and professional development on numerous occasions through National and International conferences and journals and has a keen interest in International Education, organizational development and performance excellence. Dr. Williams is a Fulbright Educational Leadership Exchange recipient and represented the United States in Asia and South America. Dr. Williams also served as a Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Examiner and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the Association of Black School Educators.
Dr. Williams is committed to equity and excellence for all scholars. She is using her executive leadership skills, education, and rich experiences to dismantle barriers that perpetuate the opportunity and achievement gaps in our schools.
When away from work, she enjoys any outdoor activity, gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and her bull-dog mix, Chuck D.
